Lucille Elsie Pleasent
I was born with neurosyphillis a disease which has left me with disabilities, I cannot hear and cannot speak and from time to time I have epileptic seizures. I am the oldest daughter of Henrietta and David lacks. I was sent to the crownsville hospital for the negro insane, with the diagnosis of "Idiocy". My Mother Henrietta was diagnosed with Cancer and when they took samples they said that her stem cells are spearfish because they multiply infinitely. My mom got really sick over the time but I remember that she was so happy at her last visit to see me. I think that our family should have gotten some kind of payment because, it was our mother who was special and our whole family was born into poverty.
1.Last night I had seizure, which always affects me on the next day and gives me a bad headache and dizziness. My mom Henrietta is a really big help and I am really thankful for her. Welcome to my twitter
2.I know it sounds weird, but It was tradition in our family that if sombody gave birth we didn’t went to a hospital. We gave birth in our house on the floor. I was the second child my mom gave birth to in the house
3.I don’t know why everybody just calls me Elsie, I prefer my full name Lucille Elsie Lacks
4.After finding old pictures I realized that I am as beautiful as my mom when she was the same age
5.If you are interested in this topic like me you should check out that link it is really helpful to understand what Epilepsy is and how it affects you. https://www.epilepsy.com/learn/about-epilepsy-basics/what-epilepsy
6.I had to move to Crownsville Hospital. It’s really sad because I can’t see my mom so often
anymore.😓
7.I am really happy because my mother visits me every week. On the other hand I am not sure if she is doing alright because when she visited today she didn’t look that good.Hope she will be better soon
8.Nobody of my family has visited me for weeks I feel really lonely and I don’t wanna stay in this hospital
9.Just got the terrible news that my mother recently passed away from cancer. You will always be in my heart I love you forever❤️
10.Henrietta seemed relieved, almost desperate, to see Elsie looking okay. That was the last time she would see her daughter—Emmett figures she knew she was saying goodbye. What she didn't know was that no one would ever visit Elsie again. (84)
11.My mom was an incredible strong woman. She will always be in our hears. Rest in peace mom

12.I found out that my mothers cells are used for research, i find this really interesting that my mom was such a special person.
13.I hope that the research can help to cure cancer patients and that nobody ever has to suffer from it again.https://t.co/0UUTZFhU6P?amp=1
14.I think it would be fair to give her Family some kind of payment because they used her stem cells
15. At this point I just miss my mom so much. I want to have her back. Hope you are better where you are now ❤️
Question:
I don’t support that you are obligated to give cells for further research because people should be able to decide for themselves if they want to support scientist with their cells . Of course it is a good thing to donate but you shouldn’t be obligated to do it. I hope that scientist will find a way with stem cells to cure disease like cancer.
